Privacy Policy
i77 Watch ("we", "us") is a Charlotte / Lake Norman I-77 Express Lane helper. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can ask us to delete it. We are not affiliated with I-77 Mobility Partners, NCDOT, or Cintra.
What the app does
The app and site show corridor maps, typical or reported toll prices, traffic / speed estimates from third parties, leave-by helpers, and optional commute alerts. You can use some features without an account. Signing in unlocks saved commutes, alerts, and signed report history.
Information we collect
- Account (optional). Email and password (handled by Supabase Auth), plus an optional display name. We use this to keep your commute profiles and alerts tied to you.
- Location. When you open Report and allow access, we use your approximate location to suggest the nearest roadside price board and to attach coordinates to a report you submit. We do not track you in the background for advertising.
- Microphone. Only if you tap "Tell me" for voice price entry. Audio is processed on-device for speech-to-text. We do not upload raw recordings.
- Crowdsourced toll and lane reports. Price, direction, optional note, time, and (if permitted) location. Signed-in reports are linked to your user id so you can manage them with your account.
- Commute profiles and alerts. Origins, destinations, target arrival times, buffers, and alert preferences you save.
- Traffic and speed data. Segment speeds, incidents, and estimates may come from third parties (for example mapping / traffic APIs and public road condition feeds). That data describes the road, not you as a person.
- Technical logs. Basic server and auth logs (timestamps, IP hashes on some anonymous web reports, error diagnostics) needed to run and secure the service.
Analytics and ads
The marketing site at i77watch.com may show Google AdSense ads and related measurement. The Flutter app itself is not sold as an ad platform. We do not sell your personal information.
How we use data
- Operate leave-by, live corridor, and report features.
- Show crowdsourced prices to other drivers.
- Send or store commute alerts you opted into.
- Secure accounts, prevent abuse, and fix bugs.
- Respond when you email us.
Sharing
We use processors that help run the product (hosting, database, auth). Crowdsourced reports may be visible to other users of the app or site. We do not sell personal data. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the service and users.
Data retention
Account data stays until you delete your account or ask us to remove it. Crowdsourced reports may be kept in aggregate or anonymized form to keep historical price context useful for drivers. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations.
Your choices
- Decline location or microphone permission in system settings. Report still works via manual entry.
- Sign out anytime in the app Account menu.
- Delete your account in the app (Account → Delete account). That removes your auth user and data tied to your user id (profiles, commute settings, alerts, and signed reports).
- Email us to request access or deletion if you cannot use the in-app control.
Children
i77 Watch is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
California residents
We do not sell personal information. You may request access or deletion of personal information we hold about you by emailing the contacts below. We will verify the request and respond as required by applicable law.
Security
We use industry-standard providers and encrypted transport (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is perfect. Please use a strong, unique password for your account.
Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
